Analysis of the scientific production on stem education in the Web of Science
Main Article Content
Abstract
STEM education (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) is essential day by day due to the evolution and technological advancement, because its integration in the classroom allows preparing individuals prepared to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and the continuous variations of the current labor market. The aim of the manuscript is to analyze the trend of scientific production on STEM education globally in the Web of Science scientific database, using bibliometric indicators. The research is qualitative, descriptive, cross-sectional using a bibliometric approach to analyze publication trends. The results present indicators of impact, production, visibility and collaboration. Identifying an increasing production rate between 2009 and 2021, being the United States the most productive country, most publications are in the first and second quartile, the prevalent keywords are "STEM Education", "Science", "Education", "Students", "Mathematic".
