Approach to environmental film festivals. A phenomenon that moves in Latin America

Abstract
Beyond sharing joys and enjoying entertainment, a different approach to the idea of film festival is possible from five disciplines: anthropology, sociology, geography, physics and networks. From a systematic literature review based on theoretical research, four currents related to the concept of film festival are identified. A point of convergence is the existence of a public event in a limited time which uses cinema to convene subjects. The objectives of environmental film festivals are diverse. However, most of the texts aim at changing or transforming something: actions, behaviors and practices through education, training and legislation itself. Beyond trying to change the brains of moviegoers, the aim is to unsettle them with questions and reflections on their actions. They look for possible solutions from thinking, reflecting, feeling and even acting.
